Privacy Policy

This document provides an overview of the data we collect, utilize, and/or share when you use our applications.

HELBoard has no accounts, advertising, analytics, or tracking.

Data Collection

HELBoard has no accounts, advertising, analytics, or tracking. Your selected airport, pinned flights, alert settings, My Flights entries, and optional notes stay on your device.

Flights data

To show the board, TestFlight and Release request Finavia’s public flights XML via kanso.fi. That request includes an IP address and the airport code in the URL. The server may keep a request log, as any HTTPS host might. That is not used as personal information, to measure how you use HELBoard, for advertising, or for profiling, and it is not sold.

My Flights

My Flights can include Upcoming and Past flights. Optional notes stay on your device unless you turn on the separate iCloud sync setting. They are not sent to kanso.fi, Finavia, Apple Push Notification service, the board, or a Live Activity. You can remove flights and notes in the app; local app data is also removed when you delete the app.

Optional iCloud sync

If you enable iCloud sync, HELBoard stores your Upcoming and Past flights and their optional notes in your private iCloud database so they can be available on your other devices using the same Apple Account. Pins, alerts, Live Activities, board snapshots, and push tokens are not synced.

Sync is off until you opt in. Turning it off on one iPhone stops syncing on that iPhone but keeps its local copy, your private iCloud data, and copies on other devices unchanged. You can delete synced flights and notes from the app; Apple handles iCloud storage and delivery under your Apple Account and iCloud terms.

Pinned alerts and Live Activities

Clock reminders created from a pinned flight’s last known snapshot stay on your device. If you turn on alerts for a pinned flight and a Live Activity is active, HELBoard sends kanso.fi the flight identity (airport, direction, flight number, and scheduled time), a Live Activity push token, and—when alerts are enabled—a standard Apple push-notification device token.

kanso.fi uses this only to keep the Live Activity current and, when enabled, to send flight-change alerts while HELBoard is not open. The watch record is kept only for the active flight window and is deleted when the activity ends, or when you mute or unfollow the flight.

Apple delivery

Apple delivers Live Activity updates and notifications. They may contain public flight information such as flight number, status, time, gate, check-in desks, or baggage area. HELBoard does not send notes, names, booking references, seat numbers, or other itinerary details in these updates.

Information Sharing

HELBoard does not sell personal information or use advertising or analytics services. It shares only the minimum information needed with kanso.fi to provide the board, Live Activity, and optional alerts, and with Apple to deliver updates and notifications.

Privacy Policy Amendments

We reserve the right to update or modify this privacy policy at any time. Any potential changes will become effective immediately after being published on this page and will be communicated within the applications.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when HELBoard’s data handling changes. The current version is available in the app and at kanso.fi/hel/privacy.html.
